JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: 

Brew Gentlemen is hiring a Brewing Manager who is a natural leader, engenders trust, demonstrates a sense of urgency, and assures consistent achievement of quality standards. As a leader in the brew house who values integrity, excellence, and diligence, your focus will be on ensuring that the operations of the brew house are humming along, the team feels supported, and the quality is never compromised! This role combines the daily, weekly and monthly coordination of all beer production with managing the brewery team, brewery equipment, and all aspects tied to running a brewery and barrel aging facility – from start to finish.

Top candidates will have extensive understanding of beverage manufacturing and managing a team that executes all aspects of brewing operations, from selecting ingredients to delivering a finished product. This includes but is not limited to: beer aging and packaging, crafting new recipes, cleaning and sanitation, quality control operations, a sensory program, warehouse operations, staff management, and detailed record keeping.

This person is a head coach – someone who has specialized knowledge of the game, relates to others with sincerity and authority, executes plays with precision, and isn’t shy about getting on the field to demonstrate and motivate as needed.

In this environment, daily operations require fast-thinking with confidence and the ability to give clear direction to the team on procedures and timelines. Developing expertise across the team through effective delegation and shared responsibility for work output is a priority.

This role reports directly to the COO and CEO. This professional is expected to work closely with the entire brewing team and Sales Manager, under the direction of the COO. This is a senior level position that will suit someone with 5–7 years of experience managing a beverage manufacturing facility. A wide array of knowledge is required along with the ability to lead a team, be self-motivated, and display exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities:

PRODUCT

  • Meets brewing schedules and delivering finished beer on schedule
  • Maintains raw material and packaging inventory above minimum levels
  • Works directly with the Lead Brewer, COO and CEO to formulate and develop brewing policies and procedures to enhance wort quality and preserve brand integrity
  • Timely and clear communication of product status across the company

PEOPLE

  • Schedules shifts to ensure appropriate labor is available to maintain the brew schedule
  • Oversees and trains all brewing staff, confirming they are performing tasks per the SOPs
  • Creation and maintenance of a safe and efficient production environment
  • Produces a safe working environment for employees by maintaining the facility and equipment in optimal working condition and ensuring there are clear pathways for team members to give feedback, raise concerns and have any issues swiftly addressed
  • Clear, consistent and timely communication with other departments
  • Maintaining a strong and happy team that is diverse and inclusive
  • Ongoing professional development of team members and providing opportunities for advancement
  • Conducts professional outreach within the brewing community
  • Participation in events and community engagement opportunities as determined by the company

PROCESS

  • Budget responsibility for the brewery
  • Tracking and exceeding target KPIs for the brewery
  • Tracks and reports all brewing data and maintains brewing records
  • Analyzes brewing SOPs, equipment, and the production floor regularly; making recommendations to the COO on ways to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Communicates with the Lead Brewer and Packaging Operator to coordinate the movement of product from the Brewhouse through the Cellar to Packaging
  • Oversees the maintenance and cleaning of brewhouse equipment and the mechanics involved in their operation
  • Researches and suggests continuing process improvement, education and professional development opportunities for and all brewing staff to be approved by the CEO

Education:

  • BA or BS; or equivalent work experience

Required Experience:

  • 5-7 years of professional brewing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience with proven track record of team building and leadership
  • In depth knowledge of the beverage industry
  • Forklift certified (or willing to get certified/licensed) and able to operate forklift and other equipment as needed
  • Computer literacy. Software: Google Suite, Beersmith Pro, EKOS

Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate both verbal & written

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Involvement in hiring, oversight of training, and ongoing management of brewers, cellarmen, and other operations staff relating to work in both brewhouses/cellars

Packaging Assistant

JOB SUMMARY
Part-time packaging assistant to assist with production tasks. Opportunity to cross-train on all production line activities and processes. Previous brewery packaging experience is ideal but not required. Forklift experience/certification is a plus. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Hours for this position are somewhat variable. Sometimes everything runs perfectly and everyone goes home early, sometimes we hit a snag and the team needs to stay to finish out the tank. Looking for a born tinkerer who can roll with the punches and enjoys working with a team.

  • Start up / Closeout canning line
  • Operate packing equipment including filler, depal, conveyance, labeler, etc.
  • Basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Some reporting and record keeping
  • Forklift operation / material handling
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend work

Responsibilities:

Job Summary:
The Sales Representative will facilitate ongoing account relationships and increase sales within our existing portfolio of accounts by processing weekly orders, providing personalized attention and timely responses, and creating organized processes.

Responsibilities:
- Interacts with Brew Gentlemen’s portfolio of wholesale accounts via telephone, email, text, and in person to initiate, receive, and track weekly orders and to provide support and information on Brew Gentlemen products and services
- Uses knowledge of Brew Gentlemen processes and products to answer inquiries and consults with the appropriate staff when needed to provide accurate information
- Asks intentional questions to gain feedback from key accounts to inform management’s decision making and strategy
- Ensures that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner to resolve errors and customer concerns and collaborates with team members to deliver a quality experience for the customer
- Maintains account universe across platforms including detailed records of interactions, conversations, inquiries, complaints, comments, feedback, and preferences
- Be attentive and considerate of communication, workflows, and SOP’s between sales, production staff (including distribution/warehouse team members)
- Work closely with operations to ensure a customer-centric approach to the weekly order cycle and maintain an organized distribution schedule
- Increase sales through existing portfolio by giving personalized attention, flagging account needs, and identifying opportunities for growth to share with sales team
- Increase sales in order to meet goals as developed by the sales, finance and production teams
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills including active listening both in person and across digital platforms

Sales Operations Coordinator

Summary: 

The Sales Operations Coordinator supports and enables the sales and operations teams to produce, sell, and distribute more effectively by managing tasks across the life cycle of a product. They drive toward volume and revenue goals by promoting operational efficiency and  helping close deals faster by removing friction where possible – giving the team the opportunity to focus on the customer.

Responsibilities:

Administrative / Communication

  • Monitor calendar for deadlines and events and prompt action within the team as needed to stay on track
  • Maintain new and existing customer information (CRM) across platforms
  • Ensure new customers are properly trained on how to best use products and services (Reorder process, Fintech payments)
  • Communicate changes internally and ensure proper followup with partners and customers
  • Facilitate feedback from customers to team and management
  • Process Licensing (TTB approvals, event permits) and paperwork (applications, contracts, vendor forms)

Logistics

  • Work directly with scheduling and logistics related to the supply chain (ingredients, supplies, print materials)
  • Coordinate fulfillment and shipments for delivery and pickup across wholesale and retail sales in collaboration with production and sales team member
  • Communicate with distribution partners and facilitate as needed between customers and internal team
  • Track expenses and plan upcoming purchases based on scheduled activities and goals
  • Responsible for confirming details and tracking progress related to specifics projects

Reporting (Finance)

  • Create and update weekly invoices in partnership with administrative assistant
  • Assist in planning and forecasting for sales and brewing operations
  • Collaborate with management to set goals
  • Deliver reports and assist in providing insight into the overall efficiency of the organization
  • Work with Finance to monitor AR and request payment on outstanding balances to collect revenue

Process Improvement

  • Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve any challenges or blockers in the full life cycle of a beer (concept to payment)
  • Design and maintain clear operational guides to ensure consistency of operations (SOPs)
  • Ensure that all activities conform to local, federal, industry, and company standards

Required Skills:

  • Ensure execution and a smooth delivery of product and experience
