Do you have a passion for people and beer? As part of the Brew Gentlemen team at the Allegheny Overlook, you'll help create energy and enthusiasm while serving our customers at the pop-up park. You will serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, oversee the stock and bar supplies, maintain a clean environment, and process payments while providing a fun and engaging customer experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:



· Receives orders

· Serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered (beer, wine, cocktail, coffee)

· Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized

· Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs

· Collects money from customers

· Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive

Required Skills/Abilities: 

· Customer service experience preferred (retail, hospitality)

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Enthusiasm for creating meaningful interactions and connecting with customers, especially at high volume and a fast pace

· Ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging customer service situations

· Ability to learn cash register software

Education and Experience:

· Completion of BG orientation (including RAMP certification) required

· At least one year of related experience is preferred

Physical Requirements: 

· Prolonged periods standing

· Ability to work in inclement weather (rain, heat)

· Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately

· Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds

· Must be legal drinking age or older

Looking for an experienced brewer who wants to grow with the company and is skilled at executing brew days from start to finish on both a 2-vessel 20 barrel Sprinkman system and 3.5 barrel pilot brewhouse.

This position is designed to develop a technical brewer who can deliver quality work on a consistent basis in a fast-paced environment, at an actively growing brewery, alongside a highly skilled team.

Essential Functions

- Execute a brew day from start to finish on both a 2-vessel 20 barrel Sprinkman system and 3.5 barrel pilot brewhouse

- Monitor equipment needs and follow up on maintenance requests 

- Executing and informing SOP’s of all aspects of the brewing process to create batch to batch consistency

- Raw materials monitoring, handling, and record keeping

- Detailed record keeping to continually improve product quality and processes

- Identify, communicate, and solve inconsistencies

- Be mindful of safety (lifting, chemicals, hot liquids, hardware, noise)

Required experience

- Recipe development

- Basic quality procedures and associated record keeping (i.e. pH, gravity, temperature)

- Complete tank breakdown and inspection as part of cleaning 

- Tank purging

- Caustic CIP of fermenters, brite tanks, and brewhouses

- Transferring beers

- Cold-side ingredient addition

- Yeast propagation, feeding, and cell counts

- Fermentation monitoring and documentation

Preferred experience

- Forklift certification

- Sensory analysis to maintain quality control

Work environment

While the job environment promotes steady, methodical work output so that processes can be completed on time and error-free, our brewhouse is fast paced. The demands of the job are rapidly changing as we scale production to meet our current market demand. You will actively be asking to inform and build processes and systems, in addition to executing existing SOP’s.


Based in the historic steel town of Braddock, twenty minutes east of downtown Pittsburgh, along the Monongahela River. Located in a renovated electrical supply storefront and warehouse in the shadow of the still-operating Edgar Thomson Works, the first Bessemer steel plant built by Andrew Carnegie.

Physical demands

- Physical and demanding in nature

- Involves working with potentially dangerous equipment, machinery, exposure to high noise levels, and handling of hazardous materials.=

- Stands and/or traverses brewery for long periods of time

- Frequently climbs stairs/staircase

- Frequently bends, moves, transports, or lifts 60 pounds and moves 165 pounds safely

- Can work in both hot and cold temperatures
