VISIT US IN BRADDOCK: WED-FRI 4-9PM , SAT 1-9PM

The Passing of the Torch

Without too much blabbering or waxing poetic, we wanted to make the announcement that head brewer Brandon Capps and The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company will be parting ways at the end of the month. Since November, assistant brewer Zach Gordon has been training and transitioning into the role of head brewer.

Brandon will be moving to Colorado sometime later this year to begin the process of starting his own brewery. We always knew he would eventually move on from our company to do his own thing, but none of us expected that the opportunity would present itself this soon. Brandon has done an enormous amount to get The Brew Gentlemen Beer Co. to where it is now, and we will be sure to share updates on his progress as he works his way toward opening.

We’re very excited to pass the torch to Zach, who has already had a huge impact on our beers. He is responsible for the American Bitter, New World Saison, and the updated recipes for General Braddock’s IPA and Business Casual. His previous job was working for Thirsty Dog in Akron, OH. We’ve had an insane 2014, and we’re looking to starting fresh in 2015 with a new brewer in the driver’s seat.

To see Brandon off, we will be releasing an 17% ABV imperial stout, appropriately named Ta Luego, which is slang in Spanish for “until next time”. We’ll also throw on some of Brandon’s other projects before he departs. Details for the event will be released soon.

Cheers family!

Matt
